When we moved to the new house it was nightmare. We moved and then wait 1 month to be connected.

Pros:

Not the highest price, free modem.

Cons:

Very bad supporting.

Awful connection - no contact by email or chat other than telephone who pass from dept. to dept.
Funny how they can do that ok when buying. My guess is that they don't want anything bad put in writing as the majority of support converse would compromise them.
Such a shame as could easily be a much more successful company
Pull you socks up Compass!! You just lost another customer

Worst support service I've ever encountered - everytime I called I'd get transferred through three separate departments and still end up with someone who couldn't solve the problem. Our internet once cut out for a full 24 hours before they addressed it, and additionally they had us locked into a plan and wanted to charge us exorbitant fees to leave it

Ok, got switched when merged with another company, plan was not ideal for me and was a real pain to try and switch to a new plan. So switched to MyRepublic.

Pros:

Price is good
Speed is good
NZ company

Cons:

Hard to switch plans (even to a more expensive one!)
Support is painful

Recently moved to a Compass Fibre plan after being on Compass ADSL. Saved $50 through Broadband Compare using the code. Free modem and install etc so a good plan for me.

Pros:

Reliable, great communication during the sign up process and continuous contact at all stages of Fibre install - since in, speeds are great, upload in particular I'm happy with

Cons:

I did lose internet one afternoon... it just dropped out and my Chorus Fibre box got a scary red light... did some home reset, tun on and off etc but no joy. Hour or so later I called up Compass support, answered very quickly and gave some suggestions to fix and resolved whilst on the phone. The negative was the drop out (although seems this was Chorus fault) but the support was great ...read more
