Vodafone are the second largest broadband provider in New Zealand. As one of the largest broadband providers in the country, Vodafone offer a broad range of plans with a variety of features and benefits to suit their customers – unlimited or capped plans, rural broadband plan, Fibre, VDSL or ADSL.
Vodafone offer some great value broadband plans and have a great reputation. The Vodafone Always Connected Promise applies to your home, fixed line, and broadband connection. If your home broadband stops working, the Vodafone service team will do their best to fix it straight away. If they can’t Customer Care will add enough mobile data to an eligible Vodafone mobile, so you can stay connected while they get it sorted.
Vodafone offer discounts if you bundle your mobile and broadband with them. Fridays will be your favourite day of the week with their Fantastic Friday offers and discounts, like cheap movie tickets, music and sport ticket and more. Vodafone Ninjas are available in store, online or on the phone to help with any technical questions.

Supplied Sky Sports and on numerous occasions programs were cut short before completion of play. Not at all satisfactory .

Using the HFC network, we were mostly happy.

Support was a bit of a lottery - sometimes they could be rude, unresponsive, or dismissive (particularly the first level, often non NZ-based) - however, I had nothing but good experiences with their Ninjas.

Over time, our upload speed went from 20mbps down to 2 (using their hardware), but our download speed was always consistent at 200.

They're often prepared to cut a deal when you're outside of the contract period, and particularly if you're bundled with their other products (e.g. mobile, Vodafone TV), so it's worth giving them a call and seeing what they can do.

We rarely ever had down time - I work from home and there were one or two incidents a year, if that.

Overall I was happy with Vodafone, but I moved on because of frustrations with their support, the value dropping as we gave up Vodafone TV, and better deals elsewhere for Fibre plans. I would tentatively recommend them if the HFC network appeals to you.

Reliable, willing to chat about deals, Ninjas are very good, bundle deals are decent value, legitimate alternative to Fibre
Support is very hit and miss, upload speed disappeared over time, I went years without ever being able to log in to my Vodafone account and never getting a resolution for it

Since the change of ownership, I'm disappointed generally. There isn't any real service now, takes ages to get thru by phone, they're barely competative & don't appear overly interested in repeat business. My contract is coming up for renewal in a couple of week's; haven't heard a peep or any interest in maintaining contact. This is leaving me more likely than not to check pricing from another provider, & after at least a ten year relationship. quite disappointed, yet again...
not certain there is any now... time to move on decision is coming up I think...
after my money - yes! After providing a service/relationship, now very much doubtful...

Vodafone sports appalling customer service. Can't get hold of anyone who is capable of making any decisions. Just scripted "so sorry you're feeling upset" texts. Never make any effort for existing customers. We'd been with them for over 20 years and we still had to fight every year to get the contract deals they were advertising for new customers. And when the contract expires, never a call to give you options! Just a bigger bill without a word. At last, I'm tired of the annual fight to get hold of someone. ...read more
